Mount. Redoubt or Volcano Redoubt had been expecting to blow since January. Today, the 23rd of March, it happened. It started on the 22nd, continuously erupting 5 times. One around 11:30PM of March 22. The second around early morn. of March 23, another after about an hour from the first, and a third after that. The 4th and 5th may had happened around 4:30AM of today that I had posted this, the 23rd.

It is now 9:46Am that I am typing this. I had been brought home from school because of a power outage to the whole Kenai Peninsula. Anchorage, Soldotna, Homer, Ninilchik, Kenai, etc. The power went out about an hour before. Many students were pulled out of school due to this. Hallways, swallowed by darkness and no one of the est. 500 students have moved to third period classes. All remaining at their second period class. Power is said to come back within the next hour, but it will be hard to call. School may be canceled tomorrow due to ash fall if it reaches about 50,000 feet to come out way.

UPDATE:
So recently for the past days since I posted this, Mount. Redoubt had struck again and again up to the 9th time this week. The last two happened just yesterday(the sixth said to be the biggest blast yet), one the day before that. This 9th blast happened when I was at school during a Fortnightly(or party sort of thing) and it erupted at about 7:25PM about 40 minutes before the F.N was over, blasting ash well over 51,000 feet. Airplanes have been forced to cancel their flight, the Airports out of business for possibly up to past a week due to ash falls and precautions. So far not much ash had hit where I live. But up north had gotten much more. The sun had been blocked out about 15 minutes ago, the sky darkening as if in the middle of winter again. Many drivers, awestruck as they see the plume over the clouds. Doesn't seem like Redoubt is done yet. It had slumbered for about 19 years. Now it is awakened.
